AfricaPass Mobile ("AfricaPass," "we," "us," "our") is operated by The AI Venture Academy LLC, Statesboro, Georgia, United States. Privacy contact: info@theaiventureacademy.com.
This policy covers personal information handled through the AfricaPass Mobile app and our related assistance inquiries and communications. It does not cover the independent practices of universities, scholarship providers, employers, government agencies, travel businesses, or other external websites.
Assistance inquiries: if you choose to submit a request, we collect your full name, email address, the assistance service you select, destination country, and your consent choice, plus the inquiry's creation time and processing status. We may keep correspondence you send us about a request or a privacy request.
Search and filter choices: you can enter search terms and select study levels, industries, destinations, or other filters to display listings. Search choices may be held in app memory or local storage to support the features you use. A search is not an application to any university, scholarship provider, employer, or government agency.
Technical information: Google Firebase, our infrastructure provider, may process connection and operational information such as IP address, device information, timestamps, and security or error logs to deliver and protect the service.
Usage and performance information: we use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Performance Monitoring to understand how the app is used and how well it performs. These tools collect information such as screens viewed, buttons tapped, app version, device model and operating system, an app instance ID, a Firebase installation ID, the Android advertising ID, and approximate location (city or country) derived from your IP address. We do not use this information to show ads.
The app does not offer user accounts or registration. Please do not send passport or national ID numbers, immigration files, bank or payment-card details, health records, or other sensitive documents through the inquiry form.
We use inquiry details and correspondence to respond to your request, communicate about the service you selected, track the inquiry, handle complaints, and keep necessary business records. We use operational information to keep the service working, investigate errors, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations. We use usage and performance information to see which features are helpful, fix problems, and improve the app.
Submitting an inquiry does not sign you up for promotional email. We will ask for separate consent where required before sending optional marketing, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Declining marketing will not affect our response to your inquiry.
AfricaPass is built on Google Firebase. Cloud Firestore stores the scholarship, university, and opportunity listings shown in the app and the inquiry records you submit. Google processes this information as our service provider; see https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Performance Monitoring are also provided by Google, which processes usage and performance information on our behalf. Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months. We have not turned on advertising features or ads personalization.
Authorized personnel and service providers access information only as needed to operate the service, support communications, or maintain security, subject to access restrictions and applicable agreements.
Our website is hosted by GoDaddy, which processes website connection information under its own terms. The website's cookie notice applies to the website, not to the app.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not send your inquiry to a university, scholarship provider, employer, government agency, or travel business because you view or select a listing. If you ask us to share information to help with your request, we will tell you who will receive it, what will be shared, and why, and obtain your consent where required.
We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, to protect rights or safety, or to investigate misuse. If our business is reorganized, merged, or transferred, records may be transferred with the protections and notices the law requires.
AfricaPass links to official application pages and other third-party websites. If you open a link or apply on another site, that organization handles your information under its own privacy policy, and AfricaPass does not control its practices.
Scholarship discovery and links to official applications are free. Optional assistance does not guarantee admission, funding, a visa, or employment.
We keep inquiry records and related correspondence only as long as needed to respond to your request, provide the support you asked for, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Inquiry records are deleted or de-identified within 24 months after the inquiry is closed, unless we must keep them longer for legal reasons. Backup copies may remain until the backup cycle expires and are not restored to ordinary use except for recovery or legal requirements.
The app has no user accounts, so there is no account to delete. To delete inquiry data you submitted, email info@theaiventureacademy.com with the subject "AfricaPass privacy request - delete my data" and include the email address you used in your inquiry.
We may ask for information reasonably needed to confirm the request is yours; do not send identity documents. We will respond within 30 days and delete your inquiry record and related correspondence, except information we must keep for legal reasons, which we will tell you about.
Uninstalling the app does not delete information already submitted.
You may choose not to submit an inquiry, and you may contact us to access or correct information you provided. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing before withdrawal and may mean we cannot continue the requested service.
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in your Android device settings. To ask us to delete usage information linked to your device, email us as described in section 8.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, copy, correct, delete, or transfer your information, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. We will respond within the time limits that apply and will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
AfricaPass is operated from the United States and is intended for adults in Africa, Asia, and diaspora communities. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by our service providers, where laws may differ from those in your country. You may contact us for information about processing locations and safeguards.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we process information to take steps you request, to meet legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in answering communications and protecting the service, or with your consent.
We use encrypted connections for data in transit, limit access to authorized personnel and service providers, and use database access controls appropriate to the information handled. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
AfricaPass is intended for adults 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will investigate and delete it where applicable.
We will post updates on this page with a new effective date. For material changes, we will give additional notice or ask for consent where required. New features will not be treated as permission to use existing information for an unrelated purpose.
